The Appetite is Never Satisfied

Ecc 6:7  Everything that people work so hard for goes into their mouths, but their appetite is never satisfied.

No matter what we do in life, we can never be satisfied.

There is an endless urge in all of us. And once we get what we want, we still want more. But do we know that we don’t feel satisfaction because we are living here on earth?

When God created us, He created us according to His own image.

Since God is immortal, we feel the sense of immortality in us. We desire to live forever. And that is not wrong. Having to dream about living without end is a natural desire that God has inserted in our thoughts and desires.

But we can not live without end here on earth. God’s design for men is to live a temporary life here on earth. Our final destination, is not here. Our final destination is in heaven – to be with God, forever.

Heb 11:13  All these came to their end in faith, not having had the heritage; but having seen it with delight far away, they gave witness that they were wanderers and not of the earth.

In case we feel unsatisfied – it’s a sign that we are still on earth and alive.

In case we feel unsatisfied – it’s a sign that we are temporary settlers of this earth and we are bound for eternity, where all satisfaction will be felt.

We are unsatisfied and God let us feel that, so we find ways to live forever.

Looking to live forever is not like many people did in the past. They search for the legendary and fictional fountain of youth, that once a person found it, it will make him young again and live forever.

The fountain of youth is not the key to live eternally.

The secret to live forever is to find God in our lives. He is the only eternal being. And since He is eternal, as sons and daughters of God, He wants us to be like Him, to live and dwell with Him eternally, forever.

To do that, we must search God. And God can be found through His words- the Bible. His words tell us what we need to do in order to live eternally. John 5:39  Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
