Php 4:13 I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me.
Many people lost hope in their lives. They have their reasons.
When hope is lost, a lot of things can happen. People commit suicide because they lost hope. Without hope, life can be devastated. Hope is something that we can hold on to when everything seems to fall apart. Every one needs someone to put their hopes on. And if its lost, it will make us fall and stumble.
People who have lost hope cried that there is no sense of living. When hope is lost, the strength of a person is lost also. Job 6:11 What strength do I have to keep on living? Why go on living when I have no hope? This is true, specially with people who have no faith in the Lord. People who have forgotten God have no hope at all. Job 8:13 Godless people are like those reeds; their hope is gone, once God is forgotten.
Job says the only place in this world where we can not find hope is the place for the dead. Job 17:16 Hope will not go with me when I go down to the world of the dead. This means we still got hope while we are alive.
Servants of God put their trusts and hope in the Lord. Psa 33:20 We put our hope in the LORD; he is our protector and our help. As God, He saves everyone, specially those who have lost hope in their lives. Psa 34:18 The LORD is near to those who are discouraged; he saves those who have lost all hope.
Christ came to bring hope for everyone. He has come to bring sight to the blind, to bring good news about the kingdom of heaven, to give light to everyone specially those who have lost hope in their lives. He is the deliverer, the hope of salvation for mankind. Luk 4:18 ”The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has chosen me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed.
Apostle Paul teaches that it is through Christ we get the strength to do everything. We can do everything through Christ who gives us strength. There is no impossible with God, really, we can do everything specially if what we will do are things according to His will and plans. If we do things according to His will, He’ll help us achieve them.
It is the hope that God gave us which gives us strength to wait for Him. Rom 8:24 For it was by hope that we were saved; but if we see what we hope for, then it is not really hope. For who of us hopes for something we see? Rom 8:25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
It is this hope that keeps us faithful, joyful and patient in all things, specially when troubles come. Rom 12:12 Let your hope keep you joyful, be patient in your troubles, and pray at all times.
It is this hope that we are very thankful to God, that He gave us His Holy Words to teach us, to give us hope in everything that we do, and give us patience and encouragement all the time. Rom 15:4 Everything written in the Scriptures was written to teach us, in order that we might have hope through the patience and encouragement which the Scriptures give us.
Hoping to God doesn’t mean we trust everything to the Lord. Paul says if we hope for the Lord in this life alone, then we deserve pity than anyone else. This means that we put our hopes to God not because we want material things in this life. Although God can provide everything for us, but this doesn’t mean we don’t have to work for everything we need. 1Co 15:19 If our hope in Christ is good for this life only and no more, then we deserve more pity than anyone else in all the world.
1Ti 4:10 We struggle and work hard, because we have placed our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all and especially of those who believe.
