We usually ask God about anything.
Don’t worry because He always listen. And He loves to listen to His children. Also, He loves to give what we need.
The Bible says, Mat 7:11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father in Heaven give good things to those who ask Him?
Remember when the Apostles ask the Lord to teach them how to pray? He gives them the outline that we know today as the “Lord’s Prayer.” Then He teaches them with a parable about asking or making requests to God.
In Luke 11: 5-9, we can find the story of a person who was travelling late into the evening, arriving at his friend’s house at midnight. He wants to borrow three loaves of bread, and although at first the friend refused to give the bread requested, but later he relents because of the friend’s persistence.
Many misinterpreted the meaning of these verses. They think that if we irritate God by asking our requests, maybe He will give what we want. We often force Him to reluctantly consider our requests. In verse 9, this kind of misinterpretation was corrected. Jesus says, Luke 11:9 – And I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
Ask means to say something in order to get answer or information.
Seek means to find or search for something.
Knock is also a for of request to when a door or way is closed.
We often search for answers and solutions in our problems. Usually we really need a lot of effort to resolve the difficulty. Asking, seeking and knocking are forms of requests that Jesus wants us to understand.
Asking for what we want. As Christians, we know that we are in the position of asking to the one who gives. When we ask, we humble ourselves. Of course, we ask something that is according to His will, because we know that He will never give something that is against Him.
Seeking diligently for it. We seek for His kingdom and His righteousness. God wants to be sure that we do first His will so it will be easy for Him to provide for us. Its not that its impossible to Him, there is nothing really impossible to God. God wants us to be sincere in our requests. God wants us to have strong will at our prayers, full of hope and faith.
Knocking on doors to gain entrance. The moment we doubt that God will answer our prayers is an indication that we lack in faith. We need to be persistent and persevering. God gives according to His will, in His time and not ours. We can not force Him to give us what we want. We need to show Him how much we wanted what we need.
These three things deal on how we will be answered by God when we make our prayers and requests. Prayers should be accompanied by diligence and perseverance. The manner should be associated with humility, sincerity and persistence. Asking God should be clear that we only ask what is according to His will, otherwise, anything that we ask outside the will of God will not be answered.
Remember, God loves to listen. Don’t stop asking. Continue to seek. Knock and He will open us His blessings and love.
Abundance and Peace be with us all.
