People usually feel doubt when times get rough. God knows that as a person, we have the tendency to feel weak, and sometimes we doubt that God exists, or sometimes we doubt that He keeps His promises.
Even the servants of God in the Bible shed doubts in their faith. But there are some who did not doubt God’s power because of their faithfulness.
The Bible really inspires us to be faithful at all times.
God knows that during these days, as we experience the not so ordinary tests and trials, some of us may feel doubts. In times like these, the Bible would like to remind us that we should hold on the the teachings we have received from God. Contemplating on these teachings and Bible verses will help us overcome these doubts casting on us.
God protects His children at all times. He has plans for us. He knows our future. When we come to Him and pray, He will surely listen and lend His mercy. The only thing we should do is to seek Him and find Him in our hearts.
Jeremiah 29:11-13: “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.’”
For servants of God like David, God is a refuge and fortress. If God acts as our refuge and fortress, then no amount of fear and doubt should come to us. If we really trust God, with all our hearts, we will never doubt Him.
Psalm 91:1-2 “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust’”
Patience is a virtue. Sometimes, we doubt God because we feel that His help is taking time to come. God knows how much we can hold on. And if we feel that God’s help and His promises are not coming, think again, because His help are always on its way to come at the proper time.
Psalm 27:13-14: “I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.”
Lastly, trust Him and lean not on our own understanding.
Proverbs 3:5-7: “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil.”
